A quick update on things.
Donation
Over 46,000 sq ft of ceramic floor tile has been donated for construction projects (school, print shop, multi-purpose building, & clinic). This should be all the tile needed for these projects. Currently the issue is shipping. Funds needed for shipping are estimated at $20,000.
Print Shop
The Print Shop is now substantially complete and in operation.
The only thing needed is the floor tile.
Multi-Purpose Building
The walls are going up on the multi-purpose building, but this project is taking a backseat to the completion of the facilities for the high school children. About $3,000 is needed to complete construction of the high school according to government standards. The multi-purpose building will be used for youth ministry, community events, church training facility, multi-church events, and possibly housing for mission teams. When not in use, it could be rented out for conferences, etc.
There is a need for commercial doors and windows to complete this and other projects.
Church Construction
A church is being built in the Arba Minch area. This work is sponsored by the Bonds/Belew ladies Sunday School class of First Baptist, Milan. The finished church will be dedicated this coming spring.
Evangelism Teams
The team from McDonough, GA has just returned from Ethiopia where they ministered in Addis, Dukem, and Arba Minch. More info to follow on this ministry.
Don Whitt Evangelistic Association is planning to sponsor back-to-back evangelism teams in late May & early June. This will include evangelism in the markets and at churches. Two pastors conferences, prison ministry, ministry to the pastors’ wives, and dedication of a new church. This will take place in the areas of Sodo & Arba Minch. Details will be finalized by the end of February 2019.
Orphan Ministry
From Halie, “Unexpectedly, right before the start of the school year, a government official came to our school and approached us and pleaded that we take in 6 orphans that they found. There are many children that have had their houses destroyed and they have lost much do to the current state of our country. Because of this, they have been left with nowhere to go, and no parents to take care of them.
Please pray for these children and support them by whatever means you can, whether that is financial or through prayer. “
Medical Missions
There will be a VBS/Medical team ministering July 9 – 14.
Two medical people and a dentist have committed so far. Any other commitments need to be in place by Jan. 2019. Please contact Joan Appleton ( jajeappleton@yahoo.com ) for more information
There is a possibility for a medical ministry to the local community. Not only the school children, but the community outside the school. A two Ethiopian doctors have offered to work with Haile in providing this service. Details are being considered and worked out.
